Having a catholic ceremony was something that Louise e Shane always dreamed. The engaged couple wanted a place where all the guests would be able to join them. Tuscany was the perfect choice for a catholic wedding in Chianti. With its rolling hills, amazing landscapes,
Tuscany is a perfect place for a destination wedding. Family and friends took also the chance to turn this gathering into a vacation and they had the chance to explore Tuscany.
Being always very busy at work, they decided to start the planning over a year in advance to use the rarely time off from work to travel to Florence. A romantic countryside church and a hold historical castle nestled in the Chianti, were the perfect settings for this super couple. this dual
Dress & Attire
Louise wanted a dress that would match the general atmosphere of a catholic wedding in Chianti. The gown was light and fresh with elegant details. A long veil completed the look.
A light blue long dress was perfect on the bridesmaids wore, it created a refined look and matched perfectly with the wedding dress of Louise. Shane wanted something in between a classic suit and grandeur tails.
He opted for a bespoke one button tuxedo. The same very dark blue colour was used for the suits of the men. The ties of the groomsmen were paired with the bridesmaids dresses.
Flowers and décor
The focus for the decorations was to follow the innate vibe of the church and the castle. Using a natural palette, the décor was absolutely perfect and refined, able to enanche the charactersitics of the two locations.
The flowers were a mixture of roses, spray roses, lisianthus, astilbe, silver dollar eucalyptus and Italian ruscus.
inside of the church looked fascinating and simple. Everything was bright and clear. The main piece for the altar was the focus point of the aisle decorated with simple pew’s bouquets. The bridal bouquet was a bloom of flowers and Louise simply loved the details. Tall stands decorated with blooms of flowers they gave that sophisticated look to the reception tables. The florals were superb and truly beautiful for this catholic wedding in Chianti.
Wedding day
In the morning of this a catholic wedding in Chianti, Louise and Shane got ready in different places. They booked two gracious large apartments to have all the necessary space for bridal party and groomsmen. The boys went down town in Florence to have hot shaves done and for the girls a beauty team reached the ladies.
A vintage Italian car was used by the bride to reach the church and her father walked Louise down the aisle. The readings of the mass reflected their love to each other. A connecting moment with their families, was when Louise and Shane had their mothers to lit the candle of love at the altar.
After the mass, while all the guests were transported to the reception venue, the newly weds took some private time to have pictures taken in the olive groves around the church. Chianti is famous for the landscapes and Shane and Luoise took the best from them.
A typical Italian aperitif was served at the castle, and the couple decided to add a Spritz corner to surprise their guests at their arrival. Italian finger food was served before dinner, family and friends simply loved the chicken liver pate, the tomato bruschetta and many other Italian delicacies.
The wedding reception had to be moved inside a tent, due to a summer rain storm, but this didn’t stop the festivities. Luckily the rainstorm ended fast enough to allow the party continue outside. Under the old oak of the castle, Louise and Shane cut the cake and the dances continued in the courtyard of the castle.
Fairy lights and chandeliers illuminated the courtyard and filled it with warmth, the perfect setting for the first dance. A photo booth and baskets of flip flops were place on the old well of the castle to add a fun twist to the party.
This duo wanted everything to be personal and touching, focused on their guest having as much fun as possible. This catholic wedding in Chianti, was a perfect blend of elegance, fun and simplicity!
