21 Mag An intimate Scottish wedding in the Tuscan hills
Leeanne a Scott, a Scottish wedding in a Tuscan castle
I love to see couple to incorporate their passions and what they love in their wedding plans. When I first met Leanne and Scott their plans were completely different. This lovely couple was looking for a Medici villa to tie the knot. They ended up celebrating their Scottish wedding in a caste in the countryside. The rich in history and unique style made the difference.
Both of them are architecture and travels lover, so they wanted something exclusive and warm but able to reflect the place where they were getting married. The location and the vibe of the venue were added an authentic touch to the day, that was infused of delicacies from the Italian cuisine.
Scott and Leanne wanted their intimate Scottish affair to be focused on family and friends. They wanted to provide them the most fantastic experience ever. The guests came from all over the world Tuscany was the perfect frame of their love.
The Florals
Leeanne worked with a natural and cohesive palette based on pastels and greens. The bride wanted a pure and laidback effect but with a romantic twist. A romantic arch, made of greenery and touches of white and pale pink pastels, stand just right in the middle of the Italian garden of the Castle in front of a hold wooden gate. What a better scenario to exchange their vows.
The glamorous centrepieces perfectly fit with the long table in the room of the coat of arms. They were made with glass jars adorned with vintage lace and some lace coming from the dress of Leeanne’s mother wedding dress.
A small piece of the same lace was pinned to the fabric used to tie the stem of the bride’s bouquet. Ranunculus, wild roses and astilbe were the predominant flowers of the gorgeous spring bridal bouquet. Matching bouquets were made for the bridesmaids. The men, as the tradition of all the Scottish wedding, wore a thistle buttonhole.
The Dress & Attire
There was something truly special in the attire of this marriage. For the getting ready Leeanne provided personalised robes to all the bridesmaid. The bridal gown was unique on its own.
A mermaid model, enriched by glimmering touches on the corset and long trail. The veil was underlined by a refined floral side headpiece. The dress had a romantic design on the front of the corset and a deep back both. A romantic but sexy look was the result.
The groom and the groomsmen wore a kilt with the tartan of the family. The blue of the kilts was perfectly combined with the dusty pink of the bridesmaid dresses. All was completed by stunning florals.
The Scottish wedding
The morning started with the arrival of the beauty team at the bride residence. A hold monastery in the centre of Florence converted into hotel. Leeanne and Scott got ready separately in two wings of the building.
Greens and flowers of the garden of the villa were the backdrop of the ceremony. The entrance of the bride could be more natural but stenographic at the same time. Bridesmaid lined up, opening the way to the bride.
After a quick couple photo session, Leeanne and Scott reached their guests in the courtyard of the castle to enjoy the Italian aperitif. Bruschetta, pappa al Pomodoro and many other Italian’s canapés were served.
One of the most historical room of the castle was used for dinner. The atmosphere was enchanting. Candles were placed on the fireplace, in the niches of the room and all along the long table.
There were no frills around and the result was a super ambiance, based on romance and glamour. A full Italian meal of 3 course was served as wedding lunch. Everyone enjoyed the pasta and the risotto.
The cake was made in front of the guests, following the Italian tradition. All the guests really enjoyed this part, but they did it more when they ate the cake.
For the party and dancing the courtyard, was decorated with a starry sky made of fairy lights.
No other words can be said around this wedding. The food and wine were delicious, everyone had so much fun. This is a Scottish wedding in Tuscany that the guests will hardly forget!
