18 Dic The sweetest thing: a wedding with a baby bump
Real weddings, Kristen and James and their wedding with a baby bump
This Scottish couple had a natural lovely romance herself. They always dreamed about Tuscany ad their wedding destination. Sometimes you find the perfect match without knowing it! But the big surprise still had to come: a wedding with a baby bump.
The Destination & Venue
When Kristen and james were travelling around Tuscany to find the perfect spot to tie the knot, they looked at so many places without finding anything interesting. Something simple, but not too rustic was in their dreams and suddenly they saw Borgo Petroganno.
It was love at the first sight. Petrogano is the classic rustic countryside old borgo. A main house, probably belonged to the tenants in the past and an elder rustic portion, used as a stable in the past. This property has been finely restored. Nowadays the borgo is a classy wedding venue. Restored in a typical Tuscan style, not too formal but comfy and with the attire of the wooden beams, old furniture, red bricks and terraces facing the Tuscan rolling hills.
Having a baby is a huge change of life but also planning a destination wedding ang get married 3 months before delivery can be a very stressful time.
The Dress & Attire for a wedding with a baby bump
James loves vintage markets and elaborated patterns. Consequently, he decided to buy his suit in a second-hand vintage shop. The light blue shade against the brow lines of the fabric created a countryside laid back glamour.
By the time Kristen knew was pregnant, she already bought the wedding dress. Wedding gowns can take up to six months to get ready. Kristen’s dress was planned to be delivered about a month before the wedding. She decided not to change the dress but to work on alterations. It took a couple of extra appointments with the shop to do the necessary adjustment, but at the end the result was something breathless. A vintage mermaid dress with a long trail. Soft and graceful made with lace and adorned with romantic insert in multiple layers. The result was simply perfect.
The Flowers and décor
James and Kristen, decide to opt for a simple and rustic décor with a glam twist for the table. On the contrary they decided to add a sparkle of colours with the accessories.
A bloom of pink’s shades, burgundy and a giant protea were on the bouquet. In addition, Kristen decided to wear a flowers crown made with the same flowers and shades. The bridesmaid carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquet. Men and the groom had a thistle with delicate baby breath as buttonhole and soft corsage were gifted to the mothers.
The wedding table was adorned with aromatic herbs and vases with white flowers for a classy look. For a better shimmer vibe candles and votives were added to the wooden table and glass sphere were hanged over the table.
The wedding day
The entire day was spent between family and friends, celebrating the newlyweds and the wedding with a baby bump. Emotion and special moments were the central stage of this intimate gathering.
Kristen got ready with her bridal party in the villa’s suite. in a natural and totally unobtrusive way. before the ceremony they took some moments in the olive groves to have a first look and some maternity shots.
I love everything about the portrait above – the framing is perfect and for me seems to sum up Mary & James’ day – lovely London, a truly happy couple and that feeling of intimacy only provided by a small wedding The couple was so happy about the new life that was going to join them soon, that they decided to add maternity bless to the ceremony. This was one of the most intimate moments of the day shared with family and friends.
Right after the ceremony, in the garden next to the ceremony area, exquisite Italian canapes and prosecco were offered to the guests. At the sunset the dinner began in the main terrace, facing the views of the chianti.
Many speeches took place during the night. After dinners, at the candles and mobiles lights the most amorous fist dance took place in the courtyard. This wedding with a bump was truly unforgettable for everyone.
